I like working with and changing heirlooms in order to give them a bit of a new, modern appearance so their owner will wear them again.

Very often, there are emotions tied to those pieces. For me it is more important to create something out of a material that carries emotions than to focus on selling flawless gems. This work is highly creative for me, because the story behind the pieces and the pieces themselves differ widely and as such need a different approach each time. When we look at the original pieces, we can imagine how adorable our Grandmothers must have looked wearing them.

I see it as my challenge to use elements of the heritage and create a new piece of jewellery which fits the personality of the customer as well as our time.
